​Authorities: Mich. man, 58, stabbed with screwdriver outside home

OAKLAND TOWNSHIP, Mich. -- Authorities say a suburban Detroit man was repeatedly stabbed with a screwdriver after finding four people inside his vehicle as he was leaving home for work.

The Oakland County sheriff's department says the 58-year-old man was taken to a hospital after the 4:30 a.m. Tuesday attack with what were described as non-life threatening injuries.

According to police, a 58-year-old man was leaving his home for work when he found two women and two men inside his Jeep. A verbal confrontation turned into a physical struggle, during which one of the suspects stabbed the man 12 times in the stomach and back with a screwdriver, reports CBS Detroit.

The four fled in a vehicle. Tips are being sought from the public in the case and the sheriff's department says a reward is being offered.

Police are still searching for the suspects, described as one white male, one black male, one white female and one black female -- all in their early 20s.
