Astronaut tweets cool video of lightning storm from space

It's an out-of-this-world view. British astronaut Tim Peake took to social media Tuesday to share the impressive sight of a lightning storm as seen from the International Space Station.

Peake posted the time-lapse video to Facebook and Twitter. It shows the lightning storm unfolding as the space station flew from North Africa over to Turkey and toward Russia.

The amount of time it would actually take the space station to pass over these areas would be about 10 to 12 minutes. The video was sped up to 30 seconds, Peake wrote on Facebook. The video quickly racked up tens of thousands of Facebook likes and shares, and has gotten retweeted thousands of times on Twitter.
