Arrest in fatal shooting of Memphis teen at LA fitness gym

MEMPHIS, Tenn. - A man has been arrested in connection with the shooting death of a teen at a popular fitness gym in Memphis, reports CBS affiliate WREG.

Twenty-one-year-old Ronald Jones was taken into custody Tuesday and charged with first-degree murder in the death of 18-year-old Vicdarrius Pollard.

Pollard, a recent high school graduate, was fatally shot Friday, July 24 in the LA Fitness off Winchester near Bill Morris Parkway.

Police say the shooting stemmed from an argument between Pollard and Jones while the two were playing basketball.

Jones allegedly walked out of the gym, got a handgun and then went back inside and shot Pollard multiple times, according to the station.

Pollard was reportedly getting ready to start college next month.
