Arrest in apparent road rage killing of Calif. mom

OAKLAND, Calif. - Police have made an arrest in the slaying of an Oakland, Calif. woman who was killed in what has been described as a road-rage shooting.

But police announcing the arrest of 20-year-old Carl Stephen Dubose said Thursday the shooting included a combination of complex factors. They declined to elaborate.

Dubose was arrested on Wednesday in Elk Grove. Oakland Police Chief Sean Whent said the vehicle and firearm involved in the incident were also recovered.

Dubose is accused in the shooting Sunday of 30-year-old Perla Avina. Avina, a mother of four, was shot as she was riding in a car with her husband on the way back from a grocery store.

Her husband, Luis Lopez Gallegos, has said the other motorist did not like the way he was driving and opened fire.
