Armed man reportedly barricaded in Pa. home

SAYRE, Pa. -Police are negotiating with an armed man barricaded inside a northern Pennsylvania home, reports CBS affiliate WBNG.

WBNG reported four gunshots were heard around 12:45 p.m. Friday in Sayre, just south of Pennsylvania's border with New York. It's not clear who fired.

Nearby Guthrie Robert Packer Hospital is on limited lockdown, reports the station.

Sayre Mayor Denny Thomas told the station police responded to a call for a possible domestic dispute on Packer Avenue Friday morning. It's not clear how the standoff situation developed. The standoff was reported on nearby S. Wilbur Avenue.

Police could be heard using a bullhorn to negotiate with the barricaded man, reports the station.

"We understand he's armed. Right now, we're taking it step by step and letting the police do their job," Thomas told the station.
