Arkansas couple found murdered, grandson arrested

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. - Police have arrested the 14-year-old grandson of an Arkansas couple found dead behind their home.

Conway police spokeswoman LaTresha Woodruff said the boy is being held in jail awaiting arraignment on two counts of capital murder. Robert Cogdell and his wife, Patricia, were found fatally shot Wednesday afternoon after police were asked to check on them.

Co-workers became worried when Robert Cogdell, the Maumelle Public Works director, didn't come to work Wednesday.

Woodruff says investigators believe the 66-year-old couple was shot Tuesday night. He says Robert was likely killed inside the home and Patricia was likely killed in the garage.

Woodruff says it appeared their bodies were dragged to a wooded area behind the house.

Woodruff says more arrests are possible.

Conway is about 35 miles northwest of Little Rock.
