Another alligator attacks man in Florida

OCALA, Fla. -- The Sumter County Sheriff's Office said an eight-and-a-half-foot-long alligator attacked a 58-year-old man Tuesday on County Road 311 in Bushnell, CBS affiliate WKMG reported.

The man suffered injuries to his right leg and was airlifted to Ocala Regional Medical Center.

The alligator was euthanized by a Florida Wildlife Commission gator trapper, according to Sumter County Fire and EMS Battalion Chief Brian Tucker. It weighed approximate 300 pounds, Tucker said.

Bushnell is about 60 miles away from Disney World in Orlando, where an alligator killed a toddler last week.

Two-year-old Lane Graves was laid to rest in his native Nebraska on Tuesday afternoon.
