Anne Hathaway apologizes for throwing shade at the Kardashians

Anne Hathaway knows it's never too late to say you're sorry.

The "Alice Through the Looking Glass" star just wanted to give co-star Helena Bonham Carter a shoutout but ended up offending fans of reality television's reigning family with a careless Instagram post.

The since-deleted message featured a photo of Carter and the message, "In a world of Kardashians, be Helena Bonham Carter."

It didn't take long, though, for Kardashian loyalists to express their displeasure. To make amends, Hathaway replaced the image with a new one that read, "Post removed for unintended shade thrown," along with a heartfelt caption: "It never occurred to me I was pitting anyone against each other. Not my style. Peace x."

Whether or not the Kardashians accept the apology, though, is yet to be seen.
