"American Horror Story: Freak Show" debuts new poster, teasers

Step right up, ladies and gents -- FX is giving us the first real look at the characters on "American Horror Story: Freak Show."

A poster for the fourth season of the horror anthology series shows Jessica Lange as Elsa Mars -- a German expat in 1950s Florida managing one of the last freak shows in the country -- surrounded by her troupe of oddities.

Kathy Bates can be seen (as the bearded lady), as can Michael Chiklis, Angela Bassett, Evan Peters and Sarah Paulson as the two-headed Bette and Dot. This season's cast also includes Emma Roberts, Frances Conroy, Gabourey Sidibe, Denis O'Hare and Matt Bomer in a guest role.

If that's not enough to hold you over, a series of teasers have also been released. In typical "AHS" fashion, they don't seem to relate to the show's plot but instead are vignettes that reflect the tone and theme of this year's season -- which means "Admit One" tickets being offered in creepy hands, a split tongue licking a lollipop and an acrobat who appears to have one leg too many.

"American Horror Story: Freak Show" premieres Oct. 8 on FX.
