Girlfriend of MH370 victim offers advice to families of AirAsia crash

Sarah Bajc's longtime boyfriend, Philip Wood, was among the 238 people aboard Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 when it disappeared en route to Beijing in March. In the wake of the AirAsia Flight 8501 tragedy, Bajc, who lives in Kuala Lumpur, provided CBS News with this note to the families of the AirAsia victims:

On behalf of the families of MH370, we offer our prayers and deepest empathy to the families of QZ8501. Unfortunately, we know all too well the anguish and confusion you feel now, and the pain and grief that will soon begin to set in. Please ensure you protect your emotional and physical health by relying on trusted friends and family, and preserve your strength for what is surely to be a grueling few months. Beware of the ambulance chasers and frauds trying to capitalise on your tragedy, many will begin to crawl out from their crevices. And please consider channeling your agony into our broader quest for answers and changes. The worlds flying public should not accept the systemic failures, especially in the area of communication and tracking systems, evidenced in the aviation industry in 2014. May 2015 be a year filled with truth, light and peace.
