Air Force cadet sentenced for drug distribution, manufacturing

AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. -- An Air Force cadet who pleaded guilty to dealing prescription and illegal drugs to fellow students was sentenced Wednesday, reports CBS Denver.

Nathaniel Penalosa was sentenced to 42 months of confinement, dismissal and total forfeiture of all pay and allowances as part of an agreement, according to the station. Because of the plea deal, confinement was capped at three years.

In addition to dealing drugs -- such as LSD, modafinil, and the methamphetamine derivative molly -- Penalosa also pleaded guilty to the manufacture of molly.

Penalosa was a former Airman who had earned the Air Force Achievement Medal, according to CBS Denver.
