5 hurt when gun goes off at NYC's Waldorf Astoria Hotel

NEW YORK -- A woman suffered a minor gunshot wound and four other people were hurt when a gun went off Saturday night at New York's famous Waldorf Astoria Hotel, CBS radio station 1010 WINS reported.

The shooting happened around 7:30 p.m. in the lobby of the Midtown Manhattan hotel as a wedding was taking place, according to New York Police Department Deputy Chief William Aubry.

He said a firearm belonging to a wedding guest accidentally discharged, grazing a woman in the head. She was taken to Bellevue Hospital in stable condition, 1010 WINS reported.

Four others were injured by debris, Aubry said, with three of them taken to local hospitals. None of the injuries were believed to be life-threatening.

The NYPD was questioning three people at a Manhattan precinct. Video of the incident was also being reviewed by investigators, Aubry said.

The Waldorf Astoria is one of New York's best-known hotels. It's where the U.S. president stays during the United Nations General Assembly.
