Cops: Missing woman was victim of contract killing; 5 arrested

RAPID CITY, S.D. -- Rapid City police say they've arrested three people on first-degree murder charges and two others on accessory charges after finding the body of a 22-year-old woman who disappeared a year ago.

Jessica Rehfeld had last been seen in May 2015. Authorities say her body was discovered Friday in a remote grave dug at a forest south of Rockerville.

Police say they believe Rehfeld's death was a contract killing. They arrested 26-year-old Jonathon Klinetobe, of Sturgis, 24-year-old David Schneider, of Rapid City, and 35-year-old Richard Hirth, of Rapid City, on murder charges.

Investigators accuse Klinetobe, an ex-boyfriend of Rehfeld's, of offering Schneider and Hirth money to kill Rehfeld. Attorney information for the men was not available.

Police say two others are accused of helping to move the body.
