46 charges for Colo. man accused in wild car-theft chase

GOLDEN, Colo. - A man accused of hijacking one car, stealing two others and trying to take more during a wild chase west of Denver last week has been charged with 46 crimes, including aggravated robbery and assault.

Christopher Sullivan, 37, was advised of the charges Wednesday in Jefferson County court.

Police say the string of thefts began when Sullivan and a 17-year-old fled a traffic stop. Over the next two hours, police say they hijacked a car, stole a pickup truck and crashed through a closed garage door in a stolen SUV.

The chase that was captured on helicopter video ended when a deputy and a passerby wrestled him to the ground on a highway.

Court records do not list his attorney.
