3 people, including 4-year-old girl, shot in New York City

NEW YORK -- Police say three people including a 4-year-old girl were shot Wednesday morning outside a convenience store in New York City.

The gunfire erupted after a fight broke out on a sidewalk in the Bronx around 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, reports CBS New York.

The 4-year-old girl was shot once in the back when two gunmen fired more than 19 shots, the station reports. She was taken to a nearby hospital.

A 33-year-old man, who was believed to be the intended target, was shot multiple times in the legs and a 47-year-old man was shot in the back.

None of the injuries are considered life-threatening.

Police reportedly responded to the shooting after receiving a ShotSpotter alert, which notifies authorities when the sounds of gunfire are detected.

The suspects fled in a red car. Police tell the station they are canvassing hospitals for additional victims.
