2 shot, 1 fatally in upscale Chicago department store

CHICAGO - Two people were shot, one fatally inside an upscale Magnificent Mile department store while it was filled with holiday shoppers Friday night, police say.

CBS Chicago reported the shooting took place at Nordstrom on Michigan Avenue and appeared to be a domestic dispute. a male was pronounced dead at the scene and a wounded female was taken to a local hospital in critical condition.

The gunman reportedly walked up to a cosmetics counter and opened fire on the woman, his ex-girlfriend before he turned the gun on himself. The shooting took place as visitors to the popular area swarmed the store for post-Thanksgiving Black Friday shopping.

Authorities said no one else was injured in the shooting. The identities of the victims were not released.
