2 men charged with rape and kidnap of 12-year-old girl

WHEATON, Md. --Authorities have accused two Maryland roommates of kidnapping and sexually assaulting a 12-year-old girl.

Montgomery County police said in a news release Thursday that 24-year-old Enrique Carbajal and 19-year-old Victor Tome have been charged for an attack investigators believe began in Washington, continued to Wheaton, Maryland, and might have ended in Virginia.

Police say Carbajal raped the girl in northwest Washington on March 26 and then drove her to his home in Wheaton, where he and his roommate both sexually assaulted her.

Authorities say they believe the victim was also taken to Virginia.

The men have been charged with one count each of first-degree rape, second-degree rape, kidnapping, false imprisonment and second-degree assault. It is unclear whether they have attorneys.
