2 men arrested in killing of 90-year-old Minnesota farmer

CHASKA, Minn. -- Authorities have arrested two men in the killing of a 90-year-old Minnesota farmer who was attacked in his home last month.

Earl Olander was found dead in his San Francisco Township, Minn., home on April 11. His hands were bound and his house had been ransacked.

Carver County Sheriff Jim Olson said Tuesday a tipster provided information that led to the recovery of property stolen from Olander's home. Deputies followed leads and eventually arrested two suspects. Both men are in the Carver County Jail.

Olander was remembered by his neighbors and friends with a memorial placed outside his home, reports CBS Minnesota. Neighbors Lois Scott and her husband Jerry say Olander was kind and gentle.

"I spent a lot of time at his house and got to know him very well. ... Very nice man, everybody's friend. I don't think he had an enemy in the world. It's just so sad," Lois Scott said.

Charges in the case are expected Wednesday.
