2 arrested in connection with body found on Utah street

WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah -- Utah police say they've arrested two people they believe were involved in a man's hit-and-run death during a trailer theft.

West Valley City police spokeswoman Roxeanne Vainuku says officers arrested 34-year-old Jesse Searle and 26-year-old Jeanette Miner on Wednesday.

Neither has been charged or has an assigned attorney but Salt Lake County Jail records show they were being held on suspicion of murder, robbery and other crimes.

No home phone numbers were listed for Searle or Miner to reach someone to comment on their behalf.

Vainuku says police are seeking a third suspect.

Police say a man called Tuesday night to report a trailer theft and said he was climinging into the bed of the suspect's truck.

Officers later found the body of the man, 49-year-old Eric Carter, lying in the street. Vainuku says he appears to have been run over.
