12-year-old Arkansas boy accused of fatally shooting store clerk

FOUKE, Ark. – A 12-year-old is in custody, suspected of robbing a convenience store and fatally shooting the store clerk.

Deputies found the body of Christa Shockley, 21, inside an EZ Mart in Fouke around 2 a.m. on Thursday, according to a statement from the Miller County Sheriff’s Office.

Using evidence, including clothing the suspect allegedly wore during the crime and the weapon allegedly used to shoot Shockley, investigators identified the boy and arrested him on one capital murder charge and one robbery charge, reports CBS affiliate KSLA.

Authorities are withholding the boy’s name because he is a juvenile.
