Zakariya Odowa, 18, Drowns In Waite Park Quarry

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- An 18-year-old St. Cloud man drowned in a quarry in Waite Park Saturday evening.

The Stearns County Sheriff's Office said Zakariya Aden Odowa jumped into the water at Quarry Park around 8 p.m. and never surfaced.

Several agencies responded to search for Odowa. A member of the Stearns and Benton County Dive Team found him in 25 feet of water.

Odowa was brought to shore and lifesaving measures were attempted. He was taken to St. Cloud Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
