Years Later, 2nd MN Band Member Needs Kidney Transplant

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Ipso Facto, a local rock-reggae band, has been around since 1983, with three of the band members being brothers who went to Worthington High School.

Five years ago, the lead singer Wain McFarlane underwent a kidney transplant after being on dialysis.

Now the band's drummer Greg McFarlane needs a new kidney. He's going to get one next week from his niece Angela Graham.

This weekend there will be a musical fundraiser, predominately to help Graham. The benefit "Kidney Rock" will be at Famous Dave's Blues Bar in Uptown this Sunday evening from 5 to 9 p.m., with lots of live music and a silent auction and raffle.

Admission is $7, but you can also make donations through Go Fund Me.

There are plans to have the "Kidney Rock" event every year to help other donors.
