Xcel Energy Introduces New Alternatives Energy Program

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Xcel Energy has proposed a new alternatives energy program.

It would allow Minnesota customers to get 100 percent of their electricity from the wind and sun.

The all-renewable energy plan was submitted to the Public Utilities Commission and would be offered on a first come, first serve basis.

Xcel Energy said it will expand as the company adds new wind and solar projects.

The Renewable Connect program is expected to be one of the largest in the country.
