WWE Executive Will Manage Vikings Stadium

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — The general manager of the new Minnesota Vikings stadium comes from World Wrestling Entertainment.

Patrick Talty was senior vice president of live events at the WWE.

The Minnesota Sports Facilities Authority, Vikings president Mark Wilf and SMG vice president Doug Thornton announced the hiring Tuesday. Talty will work for SMG, the company contracted to operate and manage the stadium, which is scheduled to open next year.

Talty's background also includes management of the Zayed Sports City in Abu Dhabi and the University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Arizona.
