Women In Agriculture Is Focus Of Discussion In Fargo

FARGO, N.D. (AP) — Women in agriculture is the focus of a discussion at the Fargo campus of the North Dakota State College of Science.

U.S. Sens. Heidi Heitkamp of North Dakota and Amy Klobuchar of Minnesota and U.S. Deputy Agriculture Secretary Krysta Harden will lead the discussion on Thursday at the College of Science Skills and Technology Auditorium.

Heitkamp says women leaders in the agriculture industry from across North Dakota also will be on hand. They'll discuss ways to ensure women have the resources and skills they need to thrive in agricultural careers, and to promote women's leadership across the industry.

Heitkamp and Harden later in the morning will tour the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Red River Valley Agricultural Research Center in Fargo.
