Woman Seriously Injured After Head-On Crash On I-35W

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A Minneapolis woman was seriously injured after hitting another vehicle head-on on Interstate 35W early Friday morning.

According to the accident report, Claire A. Jacobson, 56, was traveling south in the northbound lanes when she struck 32-year-old Janessa J. Sturtz, of Minneapolis, who was driving north in the correct lanes.

The accident occurred around 12:20 a.m.

Police say Jacobson sustained serious injuries. Alcohol was detected in her system.

Sturtz sustained non-life threatening injuries. She was reportedly wearing her seat belt.
