Woman Recovering From Attack At LRT Station

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A woman is recovering this morning after being beaten and robbed near a light rail stop.

Bri, who didn't want WCCO to use her last name, still has a bloody face from the attack that left her with stitches.

The incident happened near the 46th Street station in southeast Minneapolis around 5 a.m. Thursday. Bri said a man wearing sharp rings ran up behind her and started punching her in the face and head.

"Initially I thought he was trying to kill me because he wouldn't stop," she said.

He got away with her purse and backpack.

Bri's mother put up posters around the neighborhood to warn others.

Metro Transit Police don't think their cameras picked up the attack. A spokesperson told WCCO they have no leads.
