Woman Killed, 5 Kids Hurt In Cass County Crash

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The Cass County Sheriff's Office is investigating after a woman was killed and several children were hurt in a single-vehicle crash early Monday morning.

According to Sheriff Tom Burch, his office received a report at 4:48 a.m. of the single vehicle crash on County Road 8 in Gould Township, south of Federal Dam, Minnesota.

There, responders learned that a Ford Windstar van drove off the road and struck several trees. The driver, identified as 49-year-old Tracy Gale of Federal Dam, was killed in the crash.

Four children were also taken to the Bemidji Sanford Hospital and one female child was taken to the Duluth Hospital for serious injuries.
