Woman Charged With Criminal Vehicular Homicide In Motorcyclist's Death

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A 28-year-old woman is accused of driving drunk in northeast Minneapolis last November and causing a crash that led to the death of a motorcyclist.

Hannah Christie Weyh, of St. Paul, is charged with one count of criminal vehicular homicide in connection to the death of 31-year-old Brandon Pearson of Golden Valley. She made her first court appearance on Tuesday, court officials in Hennepin County said.

The fatal crash happened on Nov. 8, 2015, on Broadway Street Northeast, just west of University Avenue.

Police say Weyh was going west on Broadway when she suddenly turned in front of Pearson, who was traveling east.

She told police that Pearson didn't have his lights on.

Witnesses, however, told police that Pearson did have his lights when Weyh turned right in front of him.

After the crash, police said Weyh's blood alcohol content was .19, which is more than twice the legal limit.
