Woman, 82, Dies On Delta Flight Headed To Minneapolis

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Authorities said a plane headed from San Antonio to Minneapolis on Sunday had to be diverted after a passenger aboard died suddenly.

According to Rochester Police, Delta Flight 3812 was on its way to Minneapolis when it was diverted to Rochester just after 10 p.m. Sunday after an 82-year-old woman died on the plane. Authorities said the cause of the woman's death is not known, but it does not appear suspicious.

Authorities said the woman was on her way to Minneapolis to visit family. The woman's name has not been released. The woman also had a 9-year-old dog with her, under her seat, when she died. Rochester Police took custody of the dog and will give it to the family.
