Woman, 46, Accused Of Stealing From Stillwater Church

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A Twin Cities woman has been accused of stealing from a Stillwater church and using stolen credit cards.

According to police, 46-year-old Dawn Rassett went into a classroom at Trinity Lutheran Church on Jan. 13 while the teacher and students were at lunch. She allegedly stole two wallets from the teacher's purse and then used the bank check cards to buy two $50 lottery tickets at a nearby gas station.

She also went to a Walmart where police say she charged nearly $300 worth of goods to a card, including a new Xbox.

Investigators say this is the latest in dozens of fraud cases involving Rassett across the Twin Cities.

She's currently in the Ramsey County Jail.
