Woman, 35, Dead After Head-On Crash In Hugo

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) –A Center City woman died late Sunday night after a head-on crash in Hugo.

According to Minnesota State Patrol, the crash occurred just after 10 p.m. on Highway 61.

The crash report said a Ford Ranger truck was traveling southbound on Highway 61 near the intersection of 159th Street N while a Dodge Stratus was driving northbound.

One of the vehicles crossed lanes and the cars hit head-on.

The driver of the car, 35-year-old Mary Patterson, died.

The driver of the truck, 18-year-old Mcklane R. Sanders of Lexington, suffered non-life threatening injuries while the passenger, 18-year-old Mark Napier of Circle Pines, suffered no apparent injuries.

State troopers are still investigating which of the vehicles crossed lanes and why.
