Wisconsin Students Protest Fraternity Amid Probe

MILWAUKEE (AP) — More than 100 protesters have rallied outside of a University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee fraternity house where police are investigating whether members slipped "date rape" drugs into party drinks.

The group of mostly UWM students held signs and chanted as they marched to the Tau Kappa Epsilon house from a park Thursday night. Protesters say they want the fraternity held accountable for disrespecting women.

Police searched the house as part of their investigation into a Sept. 12 party at the fraternity that left several people severely intoxicated and with memory lapses. Officers say they found marijuana, drug paraphernalia and prescription pills.

The fraternity's former president was charged with drug-related crimes but was not accused of spiking any party drinks.

UWM and the fraternity's international organization have suspended the fraternity during the investigation.
