Wisconsin Dog Among Early Westminster Winners

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The Westminster Kennel Club dog show is underway in New York City.

Four groups were judged Monday night, and three more will be judged tonight before the judges pick the Best in Show.

In the first round last night, a Borzoi named Lucy was named Top Hound. She won top dog in Japan last year in all breeds. In the Toy Group, a Shihtzu with beautiful hair named Panda won. The 2-year-old was bred in Canada and the owner lives in California. In Non-Sporting, a Bulldog named Annabelle won. She's almost 4 years old and lives in Raleigh, North Carolina.

In the Herding Group, a four-year-old German Shepherd named Rumor won. She's from Edgerton, Wisconsin, and rumor has it she could win Best in Show.

She was the number one winning show dog in the country last year.
