Wisconsin Students Uplink With Hometown Astronaut

WINTER, Wis. (AP) — Students in the Winter School District will have a unique opportunity to visit with their hometown astronaut Jeff Williams who's currently aboard the International Space Station.

The school district's technicians have been working with NASA for the last several weeks to coordinate an interactive uplink with Williams. That's scheduled for 10:15 a.m. Thursday in the middle school gym.

Williams is one of six astronauts living at the International Space Station. He's expected to become the first American to spend three long-duration expeditions on the space station. He's devoting part of his time to highlighting the space station's history and its use in the future.
