Wis. Boy On Bike Hit By Car, Flies Through Windshield

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A 12-year-old boy flew through the windshield of a car after being hit Saturday morning while riding his bike on a Baldwin, Wisconsin road.

The accident happened at about 9:46 a.m. on County Road E. The St. Croix County Sheriff's office says the driver, 47-year-old Robert Whitman, struck the back of the boy's bike with his Infiniti, sending the boy through his windshield.

Whitman stopped immediately and helped the boy, who was eventually transported to Regions Hospital in St. Paul. His condition has not been released, and it is not known if he was wearing a helmet. Whitman was not injured.

Investigators are working to figure out what caused the crash.
