Wis. Anglers Caught Way Over The Limit In ND

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Five Wisconsin men face significant fines after North Dakota Game and Fish say they were over their limit of walleyes by 110 fish.

A call to a poacher tip line led wardens to the men, who'd been staying and fishing on Devils Lake.

Authorities say a search of a truck and the cabin the men had been staying in uncovered 160 walleyes. Both full fish and fillets were found.

The possession limit in North Dakota is 10 walleyes per angler.

Michael Wirkus of Racine, Donald Klatkiewicz of Mukwonago, Daniel Klatkiewicz of Hales Corners, Robert Richer Jr. of Hales Corners and Allen LaFave of Racine were all cited.

The men face more than $1,700 in fines.
