Couple Charged For Drunk Driving, Firing Gunshots With Child In Car

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A couple is facing charges after deputies were called to a Winona County campground Sunday night on a report that shots were being fired by people who were intoxicated.

It happened at a campground in Elba last night around 11. Elba is a small town north and east of Rochester. Deputies say when they arrived, they were directed to a pickup truck that was pulling away.

When they pulled the truck over, Tao Vang was arrested and charged for drunk driving. Her passenger, Yang Yuam Ly, admitted to firing gunshots and was also arrested and charged on a dangerous weapon violation.

A sleeping child was in the back seat along with a holstered, loaded handgun.
