Willmar Man, Accused Of Posing As Vet, Arrested For Guns

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A 54-year-old Willmar man, accused of posing as an Army Ranger veteran, is in the Kandiyohi County Jail for being a felon in possession of a firearm.

Willmar Police say Richard Arthur Rahn was arrested Tuesday night after officers served a search warrant at his home on 2nd Street Southwest.

Authorities say they had received a tip that Rahn had a felony conviction in another state, thus making it illegal for him to have certain firearms.

Another warrant was served Wednesday at a storage unit in Willmar, where officers seized two more firearms, as well as a U.S. Army dress uniform adorned with medals and insignias.

Police had received complaints that Rahn was posing as a highly decorated officer.

Investigators are determining whether Rahn's use of the uniform violates a federal statute.
