Wild Trim Roster To 27, Waive Gogol, Sutter

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — The Minnesota Wild have reduced their training camp roster to 27 players, with the start of the season less than a week away.

The Wild assigned seven players Friday to their AHL affiliate: defensemen Jonathan Blum, Justin Falk and Gustav Olofsson and forwards Tyler Graovac, Michael Keranen, Zack Phillips and Joel Rechlicz. They placed forwards Curt Gogol and Brett Sutter on waivers and will assign them to Iowa if they clear.

The Wild must trim the active roster to 23 players for the opener next Thursday against Colorado, but right wing Justin Fontaine is out with a lower-body injury and goalie Josh Harding is suspended for a broken foot that occurred off the ice. That leaves two cuts, with young defensemen Matt Dumba and Christian Folin competing for a spot.
