Wild Sign College Free Agents Hoffman, Palmquist

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — The Minnesota Wild have agreed to terms on entry-level contracts for next season with two more college free agents, Vermont goalie Brody Hoffman and Minnesota State defenseman Zach Palmquist.

The Wild announced Monday the deals with the 24-year-olds.

Hoffman went 13-6-2 with a 2.06 goals against average in 22 games during his junior season for Vermont.

Palmquist never missed a game in four years with the program, setting a school record with 160 consecutive contests. He was fourth on the team with 29 points as a senior for Minnesota State, which was ranked first in the nation much of the season until losing Saturday in the NCAA regional semifinals.

Last week, the Wild signed New Hampshire forward Grayson Downing to a two-year entry-level contract starting next season.
