Wild Blog: Finding Ways To Win

The Wild didn't play a great game Thursday night, but they found a way to battle back and steal two points on the road in Carolina and frankly that's all, I think, we as fans can ask for.

A lot of credit for last's night win goes to the play of Goalie Devan Dubnyk. No question he kept the Wild in the game and gave them a chance to win. Dubnyk faced 39 shots and made 37 saves and a few of those saves were absolutely AMAZING!

It's so great to see the team coming together and winning even without guys like Zach Parise and Justin Fontaine.

The Wild now have 22 points in their first 15 games. That matches their best starts in franchise history from the 2002-2003 and 2006-2007 seasons.

It's nice to start off this latest road trip with a win, but the games are only going to get tougher. We'll play the division-leading Dallas Stars on Saturday and the Wild will have to be on their game. That's when we'll need guys like Mikael Granlund, Charlie Coyle and Jason Pominville to really step up.

I'd love nothing more than to see Pominville finally get that first goal of the season against the Stars. If we can get those guys to start scoring and making plays we'll really be a force to be reckoned with.

My prediction for Saturday: Wild win 2-1. I see this one being a goalie stare-down and the way Dubs has been playing lately, my money is on him.

Go Wild!
