Wild Assign Goalie Josh Harding To AHL Affiliate

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — The Minnesota Wild have assigned goalie Josh Harding to their AHL affiliate, the Iowa Wild.

The move was made Tuesday after Harding cleared waivers.

The 30-year-old was taken off injured reserve Monday. He hasn't skated with the Wild this season. Harding broke his right foot in an incident off the ice a few days before training camp and was put on a suspended list.

His last appearance in a game was Dec. 31. Illness related to his multiple sclerosis kept him out of action the rest of the way. Harding finished 18-7-3 with three shutouts in 29 games and led the NHL with a 1.65 goals-against average. With Darcy Kuemper and Niklas Backstrom the top two goalies, there's no room on the Wild roster for now.
