West St. Paul Man Accused of Strangling Girlfriend

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) - A West St. Paul man is in jail Saturday evening facing murder charges.

Police say he strangled his girlfriend in their apartment last month.

Marc Bakambia is expected to be formally charged on Monday with killing Dorothy Redd-Lowe.

Neighbors at their West St. Paul apartment said they had reported the couple for violent fights in the past.

"The number of domestic calls to this address--something should have been done a long time ago," one neighbor said.

Police had been called to the address at least four times in the past year.

The door to the couple's apartment has been sealed for weeks as police investigate the case.
