Wednesday's 84-Degree High Breaks 133-Year Record

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- It may not have felt like it with the high wind speeds, but temperatures in the Twin Cities reached 84 degrees Wednesday, breaking a 133-year-old record.

Records show a previous high for April 1 of 82 degrees, set way back in 1882.

Many towns in southern Minnesota had temperatures that reached the 80s on Wednesday.

The warm weather, combined with the fast winds, caused fires and power outages.
