WCHA, NCHC Tournaments On Tap For Twin Cities

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — College hockey conference tournaments are converging on the Twin Cities this weekend.

Regular season champion Minnesota State will take the ice at Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul in pursuit of its second straight Broadmoor Trophy for the WCHA playoff title. The Mavericks will play Ferris State on Friday night in the semifinals, following the Bowling Green-Michigan Tech game. The winners meet on Saturday night.

Across the river at Target Center in Minneapolis, St. Cloud State plays North Dakota and Denver takes on Miami in the NCHC semifinals on Friday. The winners face off on Saturday for an automatic bid to the NCAA tournament. Denver beat Miami last year in the inaugural NCHC championship game.
