WCCO Saturday Morning Links & Recap (May 30)

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- There's lots of eating and lots of exercising this week on WCCO Saturday Morning.

In the former corner, check out Burch Steakhouse and Pizza Bar, one of the topics of this week's DeRusha Eats, along with the other establishments from chef Isaac Becker and his wife Nancy St. Pierre.

Also, make sure you cast your vote to tell Natalie Nyhus where she can find Minnesota's best food truck. (This week's Best of Minnesota segment, incidentally, found viewers extolling the virtues of their choice bike tune-up shop, Jonny Rock Bikes in Hopkins.)

And don't forget to try one of the cocktails inspired by the Amalfi Coast on the patio at Nonna Rosa's, the location of this week's installment of Mike's Mix.

In the field of fitness, we took a look at the Twin Cities Tour de Cure, where an expected 2,200 bicyclists were expected to raise $1 million for diabetes.

And we hung out a bit with the Minnesota United Football Club, who are getting ready to take on the New York Cosmos at 7 p.m. at the National Sports Center in Blaine.

And last but certainly not least, the World Sumo Championship Exhibitions at the Mall of America. There are three world-champion sumo wrestlers live doing demonstrations and meeting fans. Yama, one of the champions, weighs 600 pounds, is a two-time World Sumo Champion and is the heaviest Japanese human in history.

On Friday, the WCCO Mid-Morning team tried to take him down. You can watch their entire bout here or just enjoy our animated GIF summary:

Hello Kitty is one of the most beloved characters of all time. In her 40th year, she's finally come to North America, starting with Minnesota. Click here for more information about the Supercute Friendship Festival at Target Center.

And it's not too late to get in on Minneapolis Patio Week, either.
