WCCO Saturday Morning Links & Recap (March 21, 2015)

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Spring is in the air this Saturday morning, and Mike and Natalie have all the information you need to have some fun in the (almost) springtime weather this weekend.

It's the last weekend for skiing and snowboarding at Afton Alps, but they're also doing something special to make sure no one goes without a meal. It's "Food Shelf Frenzy," their annual food drive, and if you show up at the slopes with some canned foods, you'll get discounted tickets.

"The Illusionists," are coming to the Ordway Theater in St. Paul this weekend. Tickets are still available for the daredevil escape acts at the Ordway's website, starting at $33.

In this week's edition of DeRusha Eats, Jason DeRusha heads to Pieology, the self-described "Chipotle of Pizza," for a cheesy, delicious taste of some personalized, fast-food pizza.

Won't you be my neighbor? You can celebrate the legacy of Mr. Rogers today in Minneapolis at Peace Coffee in Wonderland Park. The event is free and open to the public, and they'll also be hosting a food drive for Minnesota FoodShare.

It may not quite feel like spring in Minnesota this weekend, but the sights and smells of the season are hitting Minneapolis. Macy's annual Flower Show opens tomorrow, filled with exotic plants and breathtaking blooms. The best part: it's free!

Speaking of spring in Minneapolis: Bachman's Spring Revival Ideas House is finally open to the public! The historic home on Lyndale Avenue has been redecorated, each room with its own unique theme of vibrant colors and fresh, spring plants. More information, including ticket prices and hours, is available at the Spring Idea House website.

In this week's edition of Mike's Mix, Mike heads to Lyn65 in Minneapolis to try out a cocktail made with a superfood in an unlikely setting.

And finally, Saturday is the North Suburban Home Improvement Show in Andover, featuring nearly 100 of the area's leading builders, contractors, home improvement vendors and landscapers.
