WCCO Flies Along With MN's Only Air Force Reserve Unit

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The 934th Airlift Wing is Minnesota's only Air Force Reserve unit.

"The Global Vikings," who fly out of the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport, operate eight large C-130 H3 cargo planes, which are used to move supplies and people.

Each of the four engines on a C-130 H3 generates 1,000 horsepower.

WCCO photojournalist Gordy Leach got to ride along with the 934th on a training mission Tuesday.

Watch the video above to see the unit carry out a simulated cargo drop at a base in Wisconsin.
