WCCO 4 Live At The Minnesota State Fair (2014): Day 1

FALCON HEIGHTS, Minn. (WCCO) -- The Great Minnesota Get-Together is here at last, signaling the beginning of summer's end and the time for Minnesotans to eat food on-a-stick, drink and be merry.

Thursday, the first day of the State Fair, arrived with thunder and palpable humidity. But by mid-morning, the storm clouds moved out.

First-day fair-goers flocked to the new attractions, like the West End Market. They also chowed down on new foods – pretzel curds, Korean BBQ collar with kimchi pickles – and scoped out the new vendors.

Many also stopped by the WCCO "Selfie" Booth, which gives people the chance to take selfies with all their favorite 'CCO personalities. Those pictures are uploaded to Facebook, where people can tag themselves next to, say, Jason DeRusha, Amelia Santaniello or Mark Rosen.
